Unfortunately Michael, you would be in the 99.99999999999th percentile of teachers. It wasn’t that long ago that I was in school and very few teachers take any sort of pride in what they do. Thomas Sowell wrote that teaching majors were the second lowest performing group academically out of 14 or 15. Very few people become teachers because they have a passion for what they teach. They become teachers because they will never get fired; and because they make a pretty good living for working a five hour day with summers off.
I’d have to agree. Especially at some of these community colleges. There are some good teachers to be fair, but I’ve personally seen some incidents that left me wondering who personified Animal House best, the teacher or the students. The details are too crude to discuss here.
